Here's our new line of CRKT knives designed for emergency rescue for firefighters, EMTs, highway patrol officers, and those involved in whitewater and underwater rescue. The knives are based on CRKT production models, but have brushed blade finishes for top corrosion resistance in wet environments. Handle scales are high visibility orange Zytel®. All E.R. models are protected by CRKT's Limited Lifetime Warranty.
The M16®-12ZER and M16®-13ZER are special versions of Kit Carson’s very successful Zytel InterFrame M16 series. They feature brushed blade finishes for maximum corrosion resistance, Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point™ Serrated edges for fast cutting through rope, cord and foliage, and high visibility orange Zytel® scales.
The M16®-12ZER is a tough little bulldog, with a dual grind Tanto-style blade giving exceptional strength.
The M16®-13ZER is a slimmer design with a spear point blade with a false top edge for great penetrating power.
Both knives are small and light enough to allow for a variety of carry positions in the pocket, on belts, or on equipment. We’ve incorporated our exclusive patented* AutoLAWKS™ automatic knife safety into both M16-ER models, which automatically converts them into virtual fixed blades when their blades are open and locked.
We use tough, textured Zytel® scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame. The frames are overbuilt for rigidity, using Zytel back spacers. And we assemble the handle with superior offset Torx® fasteners. We use our tough AUS 4 high-carbon stainless steel for the blades to give great everyday utility. Both models feature the Carson Flipper, which is not only an aid to opening the blade, especially when wearing gloves, but acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.
